This isn’t actually a new idea. My mom has been making these self-consciousness-inducing things for decades. The idea is that the simple act of making a smiley face will relax your facial muscles, which can make you more relaxed and less stressed.
This is a concept that I’ve seen used for decades with great success in the weight room, and I think this concept is a great way to increase your self-awareness. And I’m also a big fan of the smiley face, so I’ve included a few variations of this in my book.

Here’s how you can use this idea: Go to your nearest office supply or grocery store and get a smiley face. Place it on your desk next to your computer monitor and make sure its facing straight up. Try to look positive. Or if you’re feeling like you need to start a self-awareness campaign, you might even put it on a poster and put it on your refrigerator.
