Our first thought when we go to the doctor is to find a drug testing clinic. A few months ago, I received a call from my mom, who was visiting my brother and I in the hospital. Mom wanted to know how I was doing, and I was a bit hesitant to talk to her out of concern that I might be overreacting to my experiences with the hospital (the drugs and the tests).
But then I remembered my mom’s daughter. She was a regular patient in the hospital for a few years. And when I was a kid, I had asked her if she had a drug test in her name, and she said she did. I remembered thinking, “Oh, so I don’t have to worry about having a drug test in my name.
Like you, I’m a little uncomfortable with the idea of having to perform a drug test in a hospital. I’m not talking about the sort of random testing you’re more or less required to perform at a hospital. That’s not what we’re talking about here. We’re talking about having to have a drug test in a doctor’s office, which is not a very private place.

I am not in a position to tell you what he did wrong, but I am concerned that he is being tested because he has no idea what a drug test is or what it means to have one.
